Connecting With our community

Joshua Generations MinistriesThe Trust seeks to empower individuals to take leadership roles in their community. It is our belief that young people can become brokers of change. Joshua Generation Youth Ministries a group of socially conscious young people who are focused on serving as mentors for the younger children in their community. The group is constantly fundraising in order to sustain their efforts, and approached the Trust with a proposal to provide office cleaning services a means of fundraising to support their efforts. By December 18th they had raised $400.00 which they used to fund a Christmas Party for fifty (50) needy children living in the City of Belmopan.

BNET’s support of JGYM allows the groups to assist in various projects throughout the country a few of them are:

  • Hurricane Dean Relief efforts in Chan Chen and Xaibe Village in the Corozal District.
  • Collected and distributed clothing to those affected by flood in the South.
  • Collected food items and clothing for those affected by Tropical Depression #16.
  • Ongoing, year round collection of food items to the needy in Belmopan.

Sacred Heart Junior College Hospitality Program We continue to commend the efforts of young people countrywide who are involved in entrepreneurial endeavors. On March 26th, 2009, the Trust was officially launched, in an effort to motivate and encourage our young entrepreneurs; we hired students enrolled in the Sacred Heart Junior College Hospitality Program to cater this auspicious event. We were extremely impressed with the level of commitment to the quality of service and professionalism demonstrated from initial contact to the end of the event.

steep bandMusic education can be a positive force on all aspects of a child's life, particularly on their academic success. The school community at Our Lady of Guadalupe RC school in Belmopan agrees with that statement and work tirelessly to fundraise in an effort to sustain their music program.  Once the date for the official launch for the Trust was determined, Ms. Julietta Burrowes, Music Director at Our Lady of Guadalupe RC School was more than happy to offer the services of their Steel Band. They were warmly received and their service greatly enhanced our event.
