NEWLY RENOVATED SAN NARCISO HEALTH CENTER AND BLEACHERS FOR TRIAL FARM VILLAGE WERE INAUGURATED

Belmopan City, Tuesday, July 21st, 2015 – The BELIZE Natural Energy Charitable Trust is pleased to have partnered with the Ministry of Health to fund the renovation of the San Narciso Health Center located in the Corozal District.   Inauguration of the renovated health center was held on Friday, July 17th, 2015.  Hon. Pablo Marin, Minister of Health, was the keynote speaker at the event. Also in attendance were Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Peter Allen as well as Dr. Angel Campos, Corozal Southwest Standard Bearer, Dr. Nelson Marin and the Northern Regional Health Manager, Mrs. Guadalupe Longsworth.

The total renovation of the facility came at a cost of $105,000 of which $83,000 was contributed by the Trust with the remaining $22,000 being counterpart funding by the Government of Belize.  Renovation works included replacement of the entire roof system including ceiling; electrical and plumbing upgrades; replacement of doors, windows, burglar bars and locks; power washing of walls, replacement of interior walls; replacement of kitchen cabinets, and exterior and interior painting.  The renovation works took four months for completion.

The BELIZE Natural Energy Charitable Trust partnered with the Trial Farm Village Council to construct a set of bleachers and dugouts that will now comfortably accommodate approximately 400 spectators during sporting events.  Inauguration of the facility was held on Monday morning, July 20th, 2015, in the village of Trial Farm, Orange Walk District.  This initiative will directly address the need for minimizing crimes within the community by providing positive activities to young people.  It will also provide an economic opportunity for vendors through increasing sporting activities and other related activities that will benefit from an improved infrastructure.  The facility took six weeks for completion at cost of $49,000.

The BELIZE Natural Energy Charitable Trust shares the same agenda of our partners and envisions these collaborations as a joint effort to empower and uplift Belizeans so that they can become the conscious architects of their own future.  The Trust is committed to continue working closely with our partners and is proud to engage in meaningful partnerships such as these that seek to advance the development of our country.
